Canned soup is really driving growth of canned food, with value growth of 12.3% expected for 2003. It has been able to able to shake off the “canned image”, being very successful in repositioning itself as a snack rather than as a meal in itself or as an entrée, particularly with the gradual de-seasonalisation of soup.
