In 2003, sauces, dressings and condiments are expected to see a decline of 5% in volume terms, but an increase of almost 5% in constant value terms, due to general increases in price after two years of price stability. More traditional Venezuelan products, such as ketchup, mayonnaise and bouillon cubes, drive volume and value sales. The majority of sauces, dressings, and condiments suffered from either declining demand or changes in consumers’ usage habits.
