The bottled water cooler markets of the 16 West European countries analysed for this new report form part of a dynamic Euros 715.4 million industry that has delivered a 3.6% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in terms of unit placements, and 7.5% in terms of volume growth, over the last five years.
Within water coolers it is clear that the more advanced North European markets have experienced a slowdown in cooler unit and volume gains. Having commenced cooler activities several years after their northern counterparts, the southern European countries have dominated in terms of recent growth. The UK is expected to remain the dominant national force within West Europe by 2012, albeit with reduced unit and volume shares. However, based on current performance and market forecasts, the dynamic Spanish market could see itself propelled into second place in five years’ time, pushing France into third place.
Aside from the weather, the West European bottled water cooler industry has been faced with two further challenges: rising overheads and scrutiny of its green credentials.
Zenith International reports offer you the most reliable market figures and in-depth analysis of trends. This comes from a bottom up approach to the research process, and detailed discussions undertaken with industry players.
