- Justify the cost and effort to be expended on the upgrade
- Prepare the existing system to accept the new software
- Plan. Plan. Plan.
- Prepare all people that will be involved or affected by the upgrade.
- Prepare the data – ETL (Extract, Transform (if necessary), & Load)
- Test. Test. Test.
- Prepare all the other elements of the current system:
-- hardware – especially if new hardware is needed or desired
-- CNC (Configurable Network Computing)
- JDE elements such as JDE objects
- security
- 3rd Party software
- Test more and Test again.
- DO IT!
- Support the users on the new system
