Over the same period, M&A activity in the emerging markets declined by 18.4% in volume terms and 51.7% in value terms.
- European telecoms continued to expand into emerging markets. Increased M&A activity was observed among the players offering software solutions to the financial industry.
- Venture capitalists invested approximately $1.5 billion in 149 companies, a decrease of 6.4% in volume terms and an increase of 6% in value terms, against the last six-month average. The sector recorded six public offering deals worth $1.7 billion in September, a decrease of about 45.4% in volume terms and 48.4% value terms against the trailing six-month average.
