Originally created to assist US Pulmonary Disease fellows with their board exams, this manual is a comprehensive review of the subject by leading practitioners in the field. This manual also includes chapter specific Q&A sections.
These Educational Review Manuals ('ERM') are comprehensive yet concise reviews of medical specialties or subspecialties that are complimentary for all U.S. final-year residents, fellows, and physicians taking their board recertification exams.
Each manual is sponsored by a single pharmaceutical company with unrestricted educational funding. The gift of the manuals complies with all current OIG/HHS, PhRMA, and AMA physician gift guidelines.
Sponsors providing complimentary review manuals in 2008 include Boehringer Ingelheim, J&J/Merck, PriCara, (a unit of Ortho McNeil), Eisai, McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Merck & Co., Ortho McNeil Neurologics, Ortho Women’s Health & Urology, Shire, Takeda and Wyeth.
Each ERM consists of between 480 and 980 pages of text, with color and black-and-white images, graphic illustrations, and tables. Each chapter includes annotated questions and answers, and there is a section in each manual that provides tips on preparing for and taking the boards.
