The Agribusiness industry includes businesses that are directly engaged in, or directly benefit from, agricultural activities. All businesses in this industry either produce agricultural commodities, are primary buyers of agricultural produce or supply goods and services to farms and the agriculture industry. The focus of this industry is on the food supply chain up to, but not including, the point of retail sale.

After some lean times in recent years, the future looks bright for the Agribusiness industry. The industry looks set to benefit from strong global demand for food and agricultural commodities, higher yielding crops, greater efficiency in the food supply chain and the effects of genetically modified seeds on farm productivity. The industrys greatest source of growth will continue to be continuing boom in the use of bio fuels, with bio diesel to join ethanol as prime drivers of industry growth.
