With Android, Google Joins Other Players in Fueling Worldwide Mobile Internet Growth
Last October, T-Mobile started selling in the US and the UK the first Google Android-powered handset. Despite some uncertainty about the handset’s sales figures, the device showcases Google Android’s ability to compete with other platforms that fuel smartphones, such as Apple’s iPhone, Blackberry’s Storm and Nokia’s N series devices. The author believes that Google has the potential to compete with other players in making the mobile Internet opportunity a reality. Despite uncertainty about Android’s success, Google is set to become a major player in the mobile Internet arena.
