2008 Report on China's Economizer Power Equipment (EPE) Market
Market Avenue, October 2008, Pages: 65
In terms of energy sources per capita, China is one of the worlds poorest countries, and its energy sources per capita is only half that of the entire world. As the major form of energy, electric power is in grave short supply in China. Data show that power supply in the country falls 9.93% behind demand, and the similar figure would grow to 15% by 2010. To make it worse, Chinas energy efficiency is only 30%, 10 percentage points lower than those in developed countries, while its energy consumption is twice that of the world average. Research from InfoTech
Essentials tells us that the potential of Chinas terminal equipment for power conservation is about 200bn kwh, which is about twice the power output of the Three Gorges Power Plant.
With an increasing energy shortage, Beijing issued in 2004 the Mid- and Long-term Energy Conservation Program, hoping to speed up the phasing-out of low-efficiency generators and promote high-efficiency models, and to increase the operational efficiency of the power generation system by 2%. This provides the EPE industry with good opportunities since the market value is about RMB300bn in China.
This report not only elaborates on the production, demand, import-export and prices of EPE in China, but also compares the operational performance of Chinas major producers of the equipment. And as its deemed necessary, the report also analyzes the opportunities and risks of investing in, and forecasts the development trend of, Chinas EPE industry.
