Icact 2001: Highlights of Trial Results, Discussions and Commercial Implications

Description: Already established as the treatment of choice for metastatic breast cancer, strong results from US trials have seen the taxanes surge into the adjuvant setting. Within Europe however, the taxanes are unlikely to be incorporated into treatment patterns for localized disease before the results of key clinical trials become available. This brief reviews the major trial releases and topics of discussion from the International Conference of Anti-Cancer Treatment, 6-9 February 2001, including current issues in the treatment of solid tumor and hematological malignancies, as well as updates on the progress of novel agents, such as Iressa, Faslodex and rhuMAb Vegf, through clinical trials.
