In-Sights: Consumer Perceptions of Handheld GPS Devices
In-Stat/MDR, Aug 2006, Pages: 9
Global Positioning System (GPS) technology is now low-cost enough to incorporate into portable Consumer Electronic (CE) devices that are affordable for most consumers. We wanted to determine the level of interest for handheld GPS devices as standalone products, as well as GPS integration in other portable products. This latest primary research-based report offers survey results that show respondents’ level of familiarity with portable GPS products. In addition, it highlights handheld GPS owners’ purchase influencers and brand preferences. Finally, the report outlines respondents’ opinions toward GPS integration in other portable devices, such as cell phones, MP3 players, and Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs). This report should be of interest to handheld GPS device manufacturers, as well as suppliers to and manufacturers of other portable CE devices that are looking to incorporate GPS technology as an additional, compelling feature.
