In 2003, the company entered into licensing agreement with ProCom One for the exclusive, worldwide license to certain patents to develop and commercialize low dosages of Silenor for the treatment of insomnia.
In the following year, BioTie Therapies granted the license of oral nalmefene hydrochloride to Somaxon. In addition, Somaxon received exclusive worldwide rights from Synchroneuron to certain patents to develop, manufacture and market acamprosate.
During the forecast period 2006-2010, Somaxon is expected to derive its entire revenues from the launch of Silenor in 2009. Product sales of Silenor are expected to grow from $71 million in 2009 to $119 million in 2010.
