About the Keynote Speakers
Bart Schachter, Blueprint Ventures Bart Schachter is a Managing Director of Blueprint Ventures. Bart brings 18 years of entrepreneurial, venture, and industry operating experience in communication semiconductors, wireless, and infrastructure software. He has backed and served on the boards of over 20 emerging technology companies including Covad, Copper Mountain, Media4 (EchoStar), NorthPoint, AccessLan (AFC), IteX, GlobeSpanVirata (Conexant), and Broadband Access Systems (ADC).
Bart started his venture capital career in 1996 at Intel Capital as Director of Networking and Communication Investments. He led investments spanning all areas of communications infrastructure including service providers, systems, and semiconductor companies. Bart started his eight-year career at Intel in several senior operating roles within Intels Networking and Communications Division. His product line responsibilities included network adapters and switches, storage area networking, network management software, and video conferencing. Later he became responsible for several product lines in the US and internationally, including the acquisition and integration of a network management start-up in Israel.
Tyler Newton, Catalyst Investors Mr. Newton previously served as a Vice President in Toronto Dominions Media, Telecom & Technology Group where he focused on providing a variety of financial, advisory and capital markets services to both established and emerging companies in the media, telecommunications, cable and Internet industries. He earned a BA, with honors, in economics from Middlebury College and is also a CFA Charterholder. Mr. Newton currently serves on the boards of Catalyst portfolio companies, APLUS Holdings, Inc. (as Chairman), Oneida Broadband, and Catalyst Repository Systems, Inc. Mr. Newton previously served on the boards of TCP Communications and Nine Systems Corporation.
