This research report presents shipment volume and value forecast and recent quarter review of Taiwanese cable modem shipment volume, shipment value and ASP, manufacturer volume ranking, shipment by maker, and price trends. This report also includes shipment volume by technology, function, and solution provider, as well as further examinations into production locations, shipment destinations, business types, and customer portfolios. The content of this report is based on primary data obtained through interviews with cable modem makers.

The report finds that the Taiwanese cable modem industry saw declines in both shipment volume and value in the second quarter of 2009. Nevertheless, due to the increasing share of DOCSIS 3.0 product shipments, the decline of shipment value was relatively moderate compared with that of shipment volume. E-MTAs still accounted for the largest shipment share among all cable modem products, followed by two-way data cable modems. It is estimated that the full-year cable modem shipment volume in 2009 will not be able to reach the level recorded in the previous year. However, with the recovery of global economy projected in 2010, shipment volume is forecasted to gradually pick up in the first half of 2010.
