Home control or home automation has been around for many years. It has been thought of as an expensive feature of custom homes or a hobby for technology enthusiasts who like to tinker with their homes.
Now service providers and device vendors are attempting to change consumer perception and bring home control to the mass market. Low power wireless technologies are also making home control devices much easier to install, allowing a do-it-yourself consumer who is not an IT expert to install a system them self.
This report looks at the growing expectations for home control services and devices. Some of the hardware and software vendors serving the market are discussed. Five-year forecasts for home control devices, ASPs, revenues are provided by region and device type. It also contains a five-year forecast for households signing up for home control services and home control service revenue.
