Commenting on the report, an analyst from the team said: “One of the major trends witnessed by enterprises in the GCC is the increase in the outsourcing of data center services and management to third-party vendors that are experts in data center management and maintenance. A number of vendors are entering the market and providing data center services at a reduced price compared to that of the internal hosting of similar services. These vendors provide end-to-end services to enterprises which ease their operations and enterprises are better able to concentrate on their core business activities. Data center service providers are setting up their own data center facilities with all the required support facilities such as powering and cooling solutions and are meeting all the regulatory requirements specified by the regulatory authorities.”
According to the report, one of the major drivers is the increasing outsourcing of enterprise infrastructure. With the increasing complexity of the network infrastructure and the need for efficient management of the network, enterprises are outsourcing the management and maintenance of the infrastructure to third-party vendors that are experts in data center management and maintenance.
Further, the report states that one of the major challenges is the slow adoption of new technology and developments in GCC countries. Since the data center requirements of enterprises in GCC countries are limited and there is a lower awareness regarding the benefits of new technology, enterprises are resistant to making capital investments to increase the productivity of the network infrastructure.
The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
