Commenting on the report, an analyst from the team said: “Mobile telecom operators' voice revenues are heading south, as subscribers increasingly choose OTT VoIP services such as Skype instead of regular circuit-switched voice. However, VoLTE can enable the operators to retreat the decreasing voice market share by offering high end voice quality. VoLTE will provide operators the opportunity to establish voice and video propositions that the OTT providers simply cannot match with, the provision of voicemail, roaming, and interconnect. VoLTE will provide broader connectivity, for instance, through operator services, a user can instantly reach out a billion of people worldwide, whereas through OTT VoIP a user group can only be connected. Furthermore, operator controlled feature has several other bundled services - call divert, voicemail, and then on top of that there's a whole load of business services as well which provide benefits such as VPN solutions in the network or short-code dialing between closed user groups. However, in order to deliver those services more cost effectively and also compete with the OTT providers on HD voice, the operators need contemplate the option LTE. During the forecast period, the telecom operators are expected to cash in these voice-enabled services.”
According to the report, one of the major growth drivers is the continuous demand for data and voice capabilities. In order to sustain in a competitive business environment, mobile telecom operators are striving to provide better services to the mobile subscribers. In this regard, VoLTE solutions enable the operators to efficiently integrate voice and data, with high-end quality.
