About Enterprise VSAT

A VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) is a small fixed satellite antenna that is used in satellite communications. VSATs are generally used at the customer's end to transmit and receive satellite signals. It provides a reliable communication mode for data, voice, video, images, and fax between faraway VSAT sites. The VSAT technology provides a cost-effective solution for individual users, who need an independent communications network that connects a number of remote sites. The VSAT network offers value-added satellite-based services such as internet access, data transmission, LAN services, and voice/fax communication in addition to private and public network communications.

The analysts forecast the Global Enterprise VSAT market to grow at a CAGR of 10.49 percent over the period 2013-2018.

Covered in this Report
The Global Enterprise VSAT market can be bifurcated into three segments as Enterprise VSAT Terminals in Service, Enterprise VSAT Terminals Demand, and Enterprise VSAT Capacity Demand.

The report, Global Enterprise VSAT Market 2014-2018, has been prepared based on an in-depth market analysis with inputs from industry experts. READ MORE >

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the team said: “Increased adoption of hybrid routers with both satellite and terrestrial communication capabilities is one of the upcoming trends in the market. These routers can easily switch between satellite and terrestrial communication systems as and when required.”

According to the report, one of the major drivers in this market is the demand for increased bandwidth in recent years due to shift in organizations' focus to optimization of processes and management. This has led to an increase in demand for complex applications, driven by the need to transmit large amounts of data. There is a tremendous increase in IP traffic. Enterprise VSATs are being used by mining and oil and gas exploring agencies to establish communication networks in remote sites.

Further, the report states that one of the major challenges in this market is competition from undersea and terrestrial fibers. VSAT service providers are facing intense competition from terrestrial offerings that are relatively cheap and need less initial investment from end-users. Hence, the low pricing offered by terrestrial operators hinders the growth of the Global Enterprise VSAT market.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
