Kitchen Intelligence: A Designer’s Perspective was conducted to gather information on what professional kitchen designers say they are hearing from consumers regarding product preferences, design choices, overall kitchen layout and other kitchen remodelling related issues. Specifically the research was designed to:
- Identify current thinking and trends in kitchen features or characteristics for the overall kitchen design and layout and for specific product categories, including:

- Understand what consumers mean when they associate the words ‘organized’ and ‘comfortable’ to their ideal kitchens.
- Identify the resources used by kitchen designers and consumers to get ideas for kitchen remodelling projects.
- Explore the role of energy efficiency and ‘green’ design in kitchen projects.
- Determine specific brands typically recommended by designers for a variety of product categories.
