USA - Wireless Market - Analysis Statistics & Forecasts
Paul Budde Communication Pty Ltd., March 2008, Pages: 17
The US wireless market continued to enjoy robust growth rates in 2007 in terms of subscriber numbers and total revenues. Subscriber numbers increased to more than a quarter of a billion by the beginning of 2008, with most of that growth accounted for by growth in prepaid subscribers. By early 2008 the number of wireless-only households exceeded the number of wireline-only households. Most wireless companies continued to register solid performances underpinned by growth in data revenue, although the MVNO market reeled from several high profile exits. Increases in data ARPU largely offset the ongoing decline in ARPU for voice services. As the deployment of 3G networks gathered momentum, with AT&T Mobility joining the 3G race, so too did some operators start unveiling their 4G plans, such as Sprint Nextel’s WiMAX strategy and Verizon’s decision to pursue a Long Term Evolution network. This report provides analysis, key statistics and forecasts of the US wireless market.
