In fabrics, Klopman International has introduced a new version of its Luminex C50 high visibility fabric, Velcro USA has developed a new moisture wicking and antimicrobial textile called Velcro brand Evaptex fabric, and Quick-Med Technologies has developed a new antimicrobial fabric treatment called Stay Fresh. Meanwhile, Kraton Polymers has introduced a range of Nexar moisture management polymers for use in high performance membranes for fabrics.
In fibres and yarns, Lenzing has developed Tencel Sun, a new Tencel fibre which can provide protection against ultraviolet (UV) rays, while Unifi Textiles Suzhou (UTSC) has launched Repreve polyester staple fibre in Asia.
In apparel, Greenology USA plans to use a SmartSilver additive to provide its Do No Harm scrubs with antimicrobial properties while Atlanco has used freshFX fabric technology to provide its Tru-Spec branded protective undergarments with anti-odour properties. Zegna Sport has introduced a new environmentally friendly version of its Zegna Sport jacket, called Ecotech Solar Jacket, which can charge small electronic devices. Adidas has introduced a new collection of yoga apparel while Falke has developed a collection of running apparel made from Biophyl fabrics. Swany America has developed a new ski glove called Swany Eco-circle as part of Teijin Fibers' Eco Circle recycling programme, and Dr Martens has designed a range of workwear for security workers.
