About Biomass Power

Biomass power generation is a source of power generation from carbon contained in the waste of various human and natural activities. This waste is derived from various sources, including the by-products from the Timber industry, as well as from sugarcane crops, woody plants, agricultural residue, oil-rich algae, and the organic part of municipal and industrial waste. Power generation using biomass is increasing. Recovering energy from garbage has developed over the years from the simple incineration of waste in an uncontrolled environment to the controlled combustion of waste with energy recovery to ensure that emissions are within set limits. Biomass is an ideal substitute for conventional fossil fuels for heating and power generation. There are a number of technical options available to make use of a wide variety of biomass types as a renewable energy source. Conversion technologies may release the energy directly in the form of heat or electricity or may convert it to another form such as liquid biofuel or combustible biogas.
