Elevator Installation & Service in the US
Over the five years to 2012, the industry shrunk alongside investment in the commercial building markets, brought on by the recession. The decline in demand for industry services intensified internal competition and put pressure on profit margins. Demand is forecast to improve in the next five years, however, as the economy continues its gradual recovery and the non-residential building market picks up, fueling the need for installation and maintenance of automation systems and industrial machinery.
This industry comprises establishments primarily engaged in one or more of the following activities: the installation or dismantling of building or industrial equipment (except plumbing, air conditioning or electrical equipment); machine rigging; and millwriting. Types of equipment installed include automated and revolving doors, conveyor systems, dumbwaiters, dust-collecting equipment, elevators, small incinerators, pneumatic tubes systems and built-in vacuum-cleaning systems.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
