Emulsion Polymers (EPs) include four types of polymers. These are acrylics, vinyls, SB latexes, and others. The demand for EPs is derived from end-user industries such as building & construction, transportation, consumer durables and others. EPs are preferred over their solvent-borne counterparts due to two main reasons. Firstly, EPs have low VOC content, which makes it environmentally favorable. Secondly, EPs are not dispersed in solvent, which makes it a safer to use, as water-borne polymers are easier to handle than solvent-borne polymers.

Vinyl emulsions are currently the fastest growing type of EP. The global market for vinyl emulsions is growing with a CAGR of 8.1%. Adhesives & sealants is a major application for vinyl emulsions.
