The primary objective of this research is to measure the attitudes and perceptions of United States vehicle owners with OE and/or aftermarket telematics and location-based service (LBS) systems, including smart phones, who intend to purchase a new vehicle within the next two years. Objectives guiding this research are to identify current usage of telematics services, usage of various general features, apps awareness and current usage, types of controls, smartphone usage inside the vehicle, vehicle brand and app awareness, and important general features. A Web-based survey methodology was utilized. Only qualified respondents are surveyed, and they must meet requirements set by a screening process prior to full survey participation.
