Roblox, an online platform that lets users play and create games, restored its services Sunday following a major outage that lasted for three days. The $48-billion company cited overwhelmed infrastructure and a bug in their system.
The platform is incredibly popular with children. The app has more than 43.2 million daily active users, and many of them are aged 13 or under. For games like Roblox and rival Epic Games’ Fortnite, holidays like Halloween can be key sales generators.
The New York Times reported Sunday on how several children in America became stressed during the outage, forced to spend time with family or play outside over the Halloween weekend.
