Switching brand royalty is a common trend with customers able to avail better care and features from competing brands. The task of retaining customers has become rather challenging, considering the fact that customers tend to be very demanding and also taking into account growing consumer awareness. The Digital Concierge Services has become a rage and is being increasingly installed by hotel chains. Digital concierge services, based on intelligent digital devices, facilitate luxury hotels in providing advanced services. Software firms are developing programs that facilitate customers in obtaining information such as restaurant recommendations, flight departures and arrivals, and driving directions, using touch-screen devices, smartphones, and iPads. Further, the industry is also witnessing upscale brands embracing the digital media. However, personal concierge services still remains in vogue, especially for the older population, and given the fact that there are some aspects of personal concierges that cannot be replaced by digital concierges.
