Building insulation materials are used to provide resistance from heat flow. The more heat flow resistance the insulation material provides, the lower is the heating and cooling costs borne by the customers. Properly insulating the construction not only reduces heating and cooling costs, but also improves comfort and the aesthetic sense of the building. The insulation materials being used now, work by slowing down the conductive heat flow and convective heat flow.

In the recent years, the insulation materials used in construction have gained popularity due to the fact that they help in energy saving while reducing the greenhouse emissions at the same time. This has resulted in increased applications of these materials in residential buildings and non-residential buildings.

The building insulation materials market has been segmented by type, application, end user industry and geography exclusively. Based on the types of materials commercially available, the market is categorized widely into wool insulation, plastic insulation, wood insulation, glass insulation and others. Each type varies greatly and the composition is different with different technical specifications. The wool insulation materials are further divided into glass wool and stone wool, whereas plastic insulation materials are divided into EPS, XPS and others. The key application segments include roofs, walls, floors, whereas based on the end users the market is segmented as residential construction, non-residential construction and infrastructure.

The overall market is also presented from the perspective of different geographic regions and the key countries in each region. The market has been segmented into four regions such as North America, Europe, Asia-pacific and Rest of the World. Competitive landscape for industry and market players are profiled with attributes of company overview, financial overview, business strategies, product portfolio and recent developments.
