Two types of filter papers, quantitative and qualitative filters, are commonly employed for laboratory applications. Quantitative filters are used for gravimetric analysis and sample preparation for instrumental analysis, whereas qualitative filters are used in qualitative analytical techniques to determine and identify materials.

The analysts forecast the global qualitative and quantitative filter market to grow at a CAGR of 4.07% during the period 2016-2020.

New Report Released: – Global Qualitative and Quantitative Filter Market 2016-2020

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global qualitative and quantitative filter market: Ahlstrom, GE Healthcare, Sartorius, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Thomas Scientific.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Caroline Biological Supply, EISCO, Microclar, Omicron Scientific Equipment Co., Qorpak, SEOH, SP Industries, Toyo Roshi Kaisha Ltd., United Scientific Supplies Inc., and VWR International.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend which will boost market growth is the growing demand from developing economies. Rapid expansion of R&D facilities can be seen in economies such as China, India, Australia, South Africa, and Brazil. These countries are experiencing high growth rates, creating enormous growth potential for the laboratory supplies and consumables market, which includes quantitative and qualitative filters.”

According to the report, a key growth driver is the growing number of subcontract laboratories. Subcontract laboratories have been increasing since 2011 and this trend is likely to continue over the forecast period. Introduction of subcontract laboratories has enabled smaller companies to carry out research and testing to drive innovation. Cost constraints had earlier prevented companies from investing in research facilities due to high capital requirements, and in some cases, had also led to a drop in R&D investment by the company. Subcontract laboratories allow these companies to outsource their research and testing processes to them for a mere fraction of the actual infrastructure cost.

Further, the report states that one challenge that could restrict market growth is the limited scope for innovation.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
