About the Analgesics Market
Analgesics are among the most commonly prescribed drugs for pain, especially that from fractures, ankle sprains, and other injuries. These are designed particularly for pain relief. Opioids, NSAIDs, and local anesthetics are the major analgesics used to treat pain. The long term use of analgesics has been linked to gastrointestinal problems. Pain is treated with analgesics, also called as pain killers, many of which are accessible without a prescription, including acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen. These medicines are termed as non-prescription or OTC analgesics and can be used either alone for mild pain or in combination with other medicines for severe pain.
The analysts forecast the global analgesics market to grow at a CAGR of 4.28% during the period 2016-2020.

New Report Released: - Global Analgesics Market 2016-2020
The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global analgesics market: Pfizer, Bayer HealthCare, Sanofi, Endo International, Johnson & Johnson, and Purdue Pharma.
Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Achelios Therapeutics, Alder BioPharmaceuticals, Allergan, Amgen, AstraZeneca, Baxter, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol Myers Squibb, CoLucid Pharmaceuticals, Daiichi Sankyo, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, DURECT, El Lilly & Company, F. Hoffmann La Roche, GlaxoSmithKline, GW Pharmaceuticals, Hospira, Immune Pharmaceuticals, Innovative Med Concepts, Merck, NeurAxon, Novartis, OptiNose, Pain Therapeutics, RedHill, Sorrento Therapeutics, Suda, Taro Pharmaceuticals Industries, Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries, Tonix Pharmaceuticals, Trigemina, UCB, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, WEX Pharmaceuticals, and Zynerba Pharmaceuticals.
Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “A key trend which is boosting market growth is the accelerated use of online resources. Several manufacturers and retailers are shifting their marketing strategy to the online platform to achieve high-volume sales and offer convenience and comfort for end-users. For instance, websites such as vitacost.com, healthkart.com, rxexpress.co.uk, and vivavitamins.com offer pain tablets, caplets, gels, creams, and ointments. These sites provide options such as live chat to provide instant support to individuals who face difficulties when purchasing pain medication.”
According to the report, a key growth driver is the rapid industrialization in China. Changes in government policies of countries are increasing the preference for OTC drugs over prescription drugs. These drugs do not require a written prescription from healthcare professionals and can be purchased directly from pharmacy stores. This is a major factor that promotes the increased use of these products and a rise in the practice of self-medication. For instance, people with pain conditions use analgesics such as acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen, and diclofenac.
Further, the report states that a major factor that could hamper market growth is the growing preference for alternative therapies. Many analgesics do not show the required long-term efficacy, which leads to patients opting for non-pharmacologic treatments for pain relief. Also, patients sometimes become allergic or experience severe side-effects from drugs or deterioration of a pre-existing disease with the use of these medications.
The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
