About Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Systems

Advanced extremely high frequency (AEHF) is a series of communications satellite systems operated by the US Air Force Space Command. They are used to relay secure communications for the US Armed Forces, the British Army, the Canadian Armed Forces, and the Royal Netherlands Forces. The AEHF system will replace the older Milstar system with six satellites in geostationary orbits, three of which have been launched. This satellite system will facilitate jam-resistant communications with a low interception among the armed forces. AEHF systems provide vastly improved global, survivable, jam-proof, protected communications for strategic and tactical users on ground, sea, and air platforms. These systems can also be used for conventional missions such as intelligence gathering, navigation, and military communications.

The analysts forecast the global advanced extremely high frequency (AEHF) systems market to grow at a CAGR of 6.56% during the period 2016-2020.

New Report Released: – Global Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Systems Market 2016-2020

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the Global Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Systems Market: Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, and Thales.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend spurring growth in this market is the emergence of inflatable SATCOM antennas. Innovations in satellite technologies and antennas, along with nimble and high-capacity global networks have brought military forces into the limelight. The appearance of inflatable SATCOM antennas designed for ground military use in remote areas and harsh weather is one such significant development.”

According to the report, the rising demand for military satellites will drive the prospects for market growth until the end of the forecast period. Military satellites are gaining popularity as it offers ease of communication and meets the needs of present and future operations. SATCOM acts as a communication bridge between various forces and national command authorities irrespective of the distances.

Further, the report states that one challenge impeding market growth is the high complexity of data sets. The increase in national security threats has led to sophistication and capabilities of satellite systems to address them. The concurrent growth in the number of ISR platforms and data types requires a simultaneous expansion of data analysis, dissemination, security, and storage. Furthermore, the military intelligence agencies struggle to cope with the high volume of unstructured data. The large databases cannot be accessed by traditional data management tools, and there are no analytical tools that can process the ever-increasing database.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
