About Fuel Management System

The fuel management system of vehicles is responsible for supplying the fuel to the combustion chamber, while maintaining the fuel-air ratio. The ratio is measured and maintained with the help of a stoichiometric method and an automatic fixture removal (AFR) process, which generate a balanced fuel-to-air ratio for combustion. The typical fuel-air ratio for gasoline and diesel-powered engines are 14.7:1 and 14.5:1 respectively, where 14.7 and 14.5 are denoted as volume of air per each part of fuel. To maintain this ratio, fuel injectors play a critical role as they spray the fuel into the combustion chamber.

The analysts forecast the global two wheeler electric fuel injection systems market to grow at a CAGR of 6.61% during the period 2016-2020.

New Report Released: – Global Two Wheeler Electric Fuel Injection Systems Market 2016-2020

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global two wheeler electric fuel injection systems market: Denso, Bosch, Delphi, Omnitek, Thunder Max, Edelbrock, Five O Motor sport, and Fuel air spark technology.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One of the key trends for market growth will be integrated engine management systems (EMS) for two wheelers. Engine management systems for motorcycles is based on port fuel injection systems for cars, and have been adapted to suit typical motorcycle engines. Compared to carburetted engines, motorcycle engines are faster and dynamic with improved peak performance. At the same time, they consume 7% less fuel in the world motorcycle test cycle and even 16% less in the real world driving cycle. Two wheelers equipped with Bosch EMS operate reliably even with lower quality gasoline, minimizing breakdowns and maintenance costs.”

According to the report, stringent US and European motorcycle fuel efficiency standards will be a key driver for market growth. Certification emissions standards for motorcycles have been implemented in many countries through the late 1990s, which were basically warm start emissions testing with no or limited durability requirements. These requirements have become progressively stringent on different schedules in different countries. In addition to consumer benefits such as reduced noise and better fuel efficiency, emission standards have been a significant contributor to the shift in the global motorcycle market toward the use of four-stroke engines.

Further, the report states that currently, traditional ICE two wheelers dominate the market due to their tested and proven engine mechanism and performance. However, in the last few years, electric motorcycles have gone from being novelty products to serious contenders. The primary reasons being tremendous torque, power on demand, low maintenance, and a greener and a cleaner vehicle, forming a compelling package. Though range, refuelling, and energy-dense gasoline engines are the main challenges facing the electric motorcycle industry, electric engines are vastly more efficient, delivering upward of 90% efficiency as compared to 30% of internal combustion engines (ICE).

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
