Hazardous location motors are devices/equipment used in hazardous areas, where concentrations of flammable gases, vapor and dust are high. The explosion-proof motors approved for Class I location contain all the features used in the most critical areas where cleanliness, wash-down tolerance, and safety for hazardous liquids, vapors or dust exist. Such motors are used in hazardous locations and are commonly used in applications like the spray painting and finishing areas, petroleum refining plants, dry cleaning facilities, utility gas plants, grain elevators and grain handling facilities, aluminum manufacturing and storage areas, firework plants and storage areas and others.
