Brainlab is the sole company in the market which sells navigation and surgical planning systems as its main product as of 2016; as such, it maintains partnerships with several large surgical implant firms, including DePuy Synthes and Aesculap. Downward pressure is exerted on the ASP by the presence of firms in the market who will bundle their systems with implant sales rather than selling them as stand-alone systems. This affects neurosurgical navigation systems as most of these units also have spinal applications.
