New Report Released: - Global Automotive ECU Market 2017-2020

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global automotive ECU market: Autoliv, Robert Bosch, Continental, Delphi Automotive, and DENSO

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Magna International, Hyundai Mobis, ZF TRW, Fujitsu Ten, Minda Corporation, KEFICO, Hitachi Automotive Systems, and Pektron

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “The demand for in-vehicle telematics, driver assistance systems, and infotainment systems in modern vehicles is high. Implementation of the above will only be possible if the hosting hardware has multicore processor support, GPU/high-performance graphics, and internet connectivity. The availability of multicore SoC hosting a Linux-based OS has led to rapid advancement in the processing power of ECUs. This will result in consolidation of ECUs in an automobile to a central SoC.”

According to the report, previously, automotive infotainment systems were installed only in premium cars. However, automobile manufacturers are equipping their mid-range vehicles with infotainment systems as a standard feature owing to the growing awareness and the rising demand for telematics and built-in connectivity.

Further, the report states that the automotive industry experienced a gradual decline in the product life cycle. The average lifespan of a vehicle model ranged from 8-10 years. The drastic changes in the form of propulsion technologies, electrification, and engine downsizing have reduced the product's lifespan to 4-6 years. We have seen such a trend in the consumer electronics and mobile device industries; a similar trend is expected in the automotive industry.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
