Automotive active seat belt systems consist of electrically driven active retractors, pretensioners, and buckle lifters. The pretensioner tightens or loosens the belt slack as per the road situation. During a hazardous road traffic situation, such as a sudden application of the brakes or the vehicle skidding, the pretensioner in the active seat belt system tightens the seat belt to fix the driver and the occupants in a safe seating position.

The pretensioner thus also alerts the driver to the potentially hazardous situation. At the same time if the driver actively maneuvers the vehicle avoiding the road accident, the active belt system then loosens the webbing to offer comfort to the driver. The same is done for the other occupants of the car (cars where the rear seat are also equipped with active seat belt system).

The analysts forecast the global automotive active seat belt system market to grow at a CAGR of 12.82% during the period 2017-2021.

New Report Released: - Global Automotive Active Seat Belt System Market 2017-2021

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global automotive active seat belt system market: Autoliv, Continental, and ZF TRW

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Bosch, DENSO, Far Europe, HYUNDAI MOBIS, Iron Force Industrial, ITW Safety, Key Safety Systems, Special Devices, Takata, and Tokai Rika

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “The exploration of LiDAR technology has revealed several benefits and capabilities of this sensor technology over other sensors that are available in the market. The continuous need for better sensors in the automotive industry has led to the advent and growth of automotive LiDAR sensors. LiDAR has good capabilities with respect to detection of objects, even during the complete absence of light. In the parking sensors market, Valeo is developing low cost LiDAR that will not have any moving mechanical part, for parking assist systems. Additionally, this system is capable of detecting obstacles in the range of 328 feet (100 meters), which is unique for the parking sensors market as ultrasonic and electromagnetic sensors have very low range when compared with this.”

According to the report, driver assistance and safety systems aid in minimizing fatalities, reducing the number of collisions, and improving overall vehicle safety. Governments across the globe are trying to implement safety regulations for the development of safety systems in integration with sensor systems and cameras.

Further, the report states that the use of active seat belt systems can save passengers in a crash; however, they can turn out to be ineffective if the impact occurs on the side of the vehicle. These types of collisions are known as right-angle collisions or T-bone collisions, in which even a minor incident can cause a chronic injury.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
