Advancements in drone technology have not been bounded by the recent aviation regulations. The reason is growing utility and benefits of drones in the civil, commercial and industrial markets. In time, innovations in material science, reliability and robustness in electronics and flight control algorithms will enhance UAV’s endurance, payload capacity and autonomous long distance operations of both multi rotor and hybrid drones.

From an effective SAR perspective, areas requiring development are networks and information systems for convenient and rapid engagement of a SAR drone or a formation of drones by distressed individuals. Till then a SAR situation will have to be rescued collectively by humans, animals and drones with in the laid down frame work of regional aviation rules.
