New Report Released: - Global Marine Inboard Engines Market 2017-2021.

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global marine inboard engines market: Mercury Marine, Caterpillar, Cummins, and Volvo Penta.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Yamaha, Honda, and Suzuki.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend in market is penetration of hybrid turbochargers. The marine industry has put substantial investment in R&D to cut down harmful emissions from boats, along with improving fuel economy and reducing operating cost. The marine industry has seen many developments in the past mainly for developing waste energy recovery systems such as economizers, which perform the same function as exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) in automotive engines, and turbochargers.”

According to the report, one driver in market is strong revival of the US and European markets. The boating industry was adversely impacted by the 2008 recession. The recession remained for over 20 months and negatively affected consumer spending on recreational activities. The financial downturn of 2008-2009 had a major impact on the sales of inboard engine sales in the US. Another factor contributing to the inboard motor sales is the creation of innovative, more versatile, and accessible boats that appeal to a variety of interests and budgets. The number of boating participants in the US also started increasing since 2012, leading to the increase in the sales of inboard engines.

Further, the report states that one challenges in market is less participation from younger generation in water-related activities. The demographics of boat users is changing drastically. The average age of the participants in recreational activities, such as boating, is increasing. Earlier in 2003, the average age of the people participating in recreational activities was 45 years, which has drastically gone up to 55 years. There is, however, less participation of the younger generation in such activities. There is an increase in the aging population as the percentage of people above 65 years is constantly increasing. In 2015, 14.79% of the total population was above 65 years, and it is likely to grow further in the coming years.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
