In SnapShot 81, the researcher examines the increase in Mobile Shared and Family Plans among MNOs for personal, family and business users. MNOs are allowing users to share Post Pay services including Mobile Data among designated users – including family or business users, and across various mobile devices.

The MNO can provide shared data from four to nine users, with data sharing limited to a particular premium Post Pay product, typically for users of 1 GB of Mobile Data and above. Other MNOs provide shared services for an additional charge to share a data allowance.

MNOs, particularly in North America, have also launched a series of “SharePlus products” which allow multiple devices to share a given data allowance. The SharePlus product has now been introduced by other MNOs worldwide.
