In many countries, Prepay Mobile Data plans are starting to mimic Post Pay integrated plans, which include bundles of Mobile Data, SMS and calls. Some differences with Post Pay plans remain, which can include the use of higher access speeds than for Prepay, as well as relatively high Post Pay Mobile Data bundles.

The size of Prepay Mobile Data plans are increasing over time, particularly in emerging markets, where Prepay plans are the most common type of plan, as they are adjusting to increased smartphone penetration and Mobile Data usage as an alternative to fixed lines.
