EP procedures are involved in the placement of various catheters in the heart to ensure normal heart function. Diagnostic EP catheters are used during EP procedures. These catheters are used for endocardial recording through transmitting electrical impulses. Ablation EP catheters are used to treat cardiac arrhythmias. These catheters are used to destroy the abnormal tissue using radiofrequency laser and microwave radiations, or by freezing the abnormal tissue.
