The Europe In flight entertainment and connectivity market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 5.63% till 2020. This moderate level of growth in the years could be accounted to the slowing market and changed consumer preferences. The economic slowdown in Europe has affected the orders for new aircraft and the share of the region in new aircraft orders has fallen to an all time low. This slowdown in sales has been primarily driven by Russia, which is expected to see a contraction in their GDP in 2017. The market for such systems in Europe, because of the market scenario, will register extremely modest rate of growth.

The market for live streaming of content from content providers like Netflix is increasing fast in the market. Passengers can directly access these services via Wi-Fi on their personal devices in the plane. Virgin America has already tied up with Netflix to provide customers with live streaming. The European operations of Virgin might also see similar services in the future. Many of the airlines in Europe are removing the IFE Systems and going for Wi-Fi and this remains the biggest constraint for the market.
