The China Factory Automation and Industrial Controls market is valued at USD 18.13 billion in 2016 and is expected to reach a value of USD 30.99 billion by the end of 2022, growing at a projected CAGR of 9.35% during the forecast period of 2017 - 2022.

With a GDP per capita of mere USD 314.43 USD in 1990 to over USD 6807.43 in 2013, at a 7.7% annual GDP growth rate change, China surely emerged as a super economy. This growth in the country could be mainly accounted for its rapid industrialization and growth in the production sector. Though the economy was dependent on agriculture for long, China has decided to diversify into more high-value industries.

Demand for various products has increased globally, forcing the manufacturers under tremendous pressure to meet the deadlines. This was one major propellant for the adoption of the factory automation in the country. Investment in automation has ramped up in China, which can be clearly identified from the growth in demand for robotics and machine tools in the country. China's share in industrial robot demand grew from 1% in 2001 to over 14% in 2011. Furthermore, the orders of Japanese machine tools from China rose by 256% between 2005 to 2011, indicating the growth of factory automation market in the country. Stemming up the marginal declines of local industries can also be pumped up employing the factory automation in the country.

The shift towards services industry in China, like that of Hong Kong and Singapore model, could be a major friction factor for the former market. However, the growth prospect for the factory automation seems stable in China for the next five years, due to growing advancements in the robotics, wireless and automation technologies in the country.

The report analyses the strategies and developments employed by the major players in the market like ABB, General Electric, Siemens, etc., and offers a comprehensive overview of the market.
