Europe Soy Beverages Market Dynamics

Soy beverages are being consumed because of their increased availability and the scientific facts that prove the many health benefits, like lowering blood cholesterol and reducing the risk of certain cancers. Soy-based beverages are also mostly consumed by athletes and sportsmen as it is fat-free and rich in proteins, which help in building muscles.

Soybean-based foods, apart from being a complete source of protein, contains other important nutrients, such as fiber, B vitamins and Omega3 fatty acids. All these nutrients play an important role in the growth of infants, fetal growth in pregnant women, and provide various other health benefits for children and adults alike. The rising health consciousness in the developing and developed regions is driving the soy beverages market. However, the recent studies on the harmful effects of soy and its derivatives are hindering the growth of the market.

Europe Soy Beverages Market Segmentation

The soy beverages market can be segmented into soy milk and yogurt smoothies. The soy yogurt smoothie has low-fat content and hence preferred over regular smoothies. Soy milk contains little digestible calcium as it is bound to the bean. Also, it doesn’t contain lactose, which makes it the best alternative for lactose intolerant consumers.

Europe is a fast-growing market for soy beverages, with Germany having the highest share of USD 332.5 million as per 2015. Germany has the highest projected growth rate, followed by the UK, Russia and Spain.

There is also a huge scope for development by launching new beverages which shall shift the focus from the traditional and the most opted beverage, plain soy milk.
