The Global Air Pollution Control Market is valued at USD 65.87 billion in 2016 and is expected to reach a value of USD 99.17 billion by the end of 2022, growing at a projected CAGR of 6.02% during the forecast period of 2017 - 2022. Air pollution control equipment is used to regulate, capture, and eliminate harmful gases produced by industries, from the air stream. An increase in air pollution has led to the demand for air pollution control equipment, globally. Climate change and global warming are effecting everything around and moreover, some of the corporate companies are not complying with the environmental regulations. Recently, in Indonesia, due to certain industrial mining and deforestation activities, a forest fire was triggered, which spread out to about 5,000 km distance. These forest fires, across Indonesia, have triggered respiratory infections in the neighboring countries, as well. In one month, these fires produced more carbon dioxide than Germany emits in a year. As per the WHO, every year around four million deaths occur from indoor air pollution and around three million deaths from outdoor air pollution. Air quality in most cities is failing to meet the WHO guiding principles of safe levels, which may give rise to and increase various health problems.

Therefore, to meet these compliances, major equipment such as the FGD, electrostatic precipitators, fabric filters, NO(x) control, and scrubbers and absorbers are used for air pollution control. As the regulations are becoming stringent, there is an increased scope for the pollution control equipment market. However, this equipment is expensive and incurs high installation and maintenance costs. New technological improvements are targeting to deliver air pollution control equipment that is more reliable and consumes less power. Moreover, an increase in the air pollution levels has also attracted regional and global vendors to this market.
