The Global Semi-synthetic lubricants Market has been estimated at USD XXX.XX million in 2015 and is projected to reach USD XXX.XX million by 2020, at a CAGR of XX.XX% during the forecast period from 2015 to 2020.

Semi-synthetic lubricants, also referred as synthetic blends, consist of blends of mineral oil and typically containing not more than 30% of synthetic oil. These semi-synthetic lubricants contain antioxidant additives that gives protection to the machines and engines from high temperature and heavy loads. Moreover, these lubricants do not evaporate as compared to the typical mineral oil based lubricants. Semi-synthetic lubricants provides number of benefits of synthetic lubricants such as improved viscosity and extended lubricant life and are cheaper than the fully synthetic lubricants. The semi-synthetic lubricants are classified by API (American Petroleum Institute) into different groups on the basis of their base stock.

Semi-synthetic lubricants are used in across wide number of end-user industries due to its properties such as construction, energy, transportation, mining, oil & gas, food processing and refrigeration among others.

The use of semi-synthetic lubricants across different industries and the growing automotive and mining industries across different regions are the key drivers for the industries. Moreover, rapid industrialization in the developing regions will led to the increase in demand for these lubricants. The growing industrialization will also led to the growth of high-performance lubricants in the developing regions. The market is however, restrained by the growing popularity for eco-friendly and bio-based lubricants.

The market has been geographically segmented into Asia-Pacific (APAC), North America, South America, Europe and Middle East & Africa. The industrial growth in the developing regions across the globe, especially in the mining, automotive and construction sector are the key consumers for the semi-synthetic lubricants and will help this market grow in the future.

The profiles of the various semi-synthetic lubricant producing companies have included in the report. These includes Chevron Corporation, Chemtura Corporation, Castrol, British Petroleum, ExxonMobil, Lubrizol, Kao Corporation, Petro Canada, Petro China, Gulf Oil Middle-East, Lukoil, NOF Corporation, The DOW Chemical Company, Total S.A., Valvoline, Sinopec, Royal Dutch Shell, and Petronas among others.
