About High-availability Server

High-availability servers are groups of systems that support the server applications that can be reliably utilized with a minimum amount of downtime. These servers are operated using high-availability software to harness the redundant computers that provide continued service when the server components fail. Without high-availability software, if a server is running a particular application and crashes, the application will be unavailable until the server is restored or fixed.

The analysts forecast the global high-availability server market to grow at a CAGR of 29.94% during the period 2017-2021.

New Report Released: - Global High-availability Server Market 2017-2021

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global high-availability server market: Cisco Systems, Dell, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development, IBM, and Lenovo.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: StackVelocity, Bull (Atos), Fujitsu, Huawei Technologies, Inspur, MiTAC Holdings, NEC, Oracle, Quanta Computer, Sugon, Super Micro Computer, and Wistron.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend in the market is growing demand for micro and containerized data center facilities. The growing demand for the storage of data volumes through IoT-connected devices increases the requirements for micro and containerized data centers. These data centers need the ability to offer maximum efficiency and to reduce the energy consumption. Therefore, micro and containerized data centers are gaining traction among enterprises.”

According to the report, one driver in the market is expansion in enterprise business models. The adoption of cloud-based services by various enterprises is growing at a significant pace. Also, digitalization has increased the number of application workloads on servers with the cross-platform support. Processor manufacturers, such as Intel, are working to boost the efficiency of the servers operating in a distributed computing environment. Enterprises are involved in increasing the utilization of the underlying data center infrastructures by using virtualization techniques to gain competitive advantages.

Further, the report states that one challenge in the market is increasing reliability of high-availability servers is reducing new sales. The life cycle of high-availability servers varies depending on their use. Since enterprises upgrade their infrastructures to server systems that have lower downtime based on the workload, there has been an increase in the demand for high-availability servers. However, these servers feature a modular design and components, such as new processors, extensions, memory types, aggressive power throttling, and advanced thermal management systems, which increase the overall life cycle of high-availability servers. Thus, if there is a fault in any component of the server system, only that specific card needs to be changed.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
