The micro display is the miniaturized display with size of 12-15 microns. These displays are very economical and cost is approximately from $10 to $25. Furthermore many research and developments are going on in order to develop efficient near to eye displays. For instance: Researchers of  Nanyang Technical University (Singapore), have developed a silicon backplane design for a QVGA-resolution liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCOS) panel which would provide fast operation speed in order to support field-sequential color operation. However key factors restraining the adoption of near to eye displays are the system integration and performance issues.
