Siemens would supply conveyor belts, PLC, and SCADA system for computer-based monitoring and control of all technical processes. The Individual Carrier System (ICS) is a new market entry from the BEUMER Group, aimed at simplifying the baggage handling system for customers.

Despite the rising worldwide implementation of modern airport baggage handling systems, 24.1 million bags were misplaced during 2014, which cost the industry a considerable USD 2.4 billion. The introduction of new technology, such as Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID), is resulting in improved operational efficiency. Many passengers have to change multiple flights to reach their final destination, which can increase the probability of lost baggage. The inclusion of the RFID can go a long way in reducing such cases of baggage mishandling.
