Glucose syrup is used in confectionery and contains varying amounts of glucose, maltose, and higher oligosaccharides, depending on the grade, and can typically contain 10% to 43% glucose. Glucose syrup is used in foods to sweeten, soften the texture and add volume. Glucose syrup by transformation of starches using an enzymatic process usually is sweeter.

Significant potential of development of the Russian market of glucose syrups is because of the continued growth the confectionery and the brewing industry that are the main consumers of such products.

The achieved volumes of production different types of glucose syrups generally provide for the needs of the domestic market in these products.
